All About Me!
Hello! Welcome to my website. I want to take a minute to introduce myself a little bit.
I was born just outside of Cleveland, Ohio and then moved to Sandy, Utah at a young age. I attended elementary, middle, and high school in Sandy. I graduated from Jordan High after my junior year of school. I went on to college, but seemed to get distracted with finishing my degree. I pursued a career in police, fire, and medical dispatch which I loved thoroughly. I continued working in dispatch for the next 17 years, earning countless awards and recognition of jobs well done, when I realized it was time for a career change--I wanted to be an elementary school teacher! While continuing to work full time, I went back to school and finished my associate's degree through Salt Lake Community College and ultimately by bachelor's degree at Utah Valley University.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Utah Valley University in May of 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I started working at James E. Moss Elementary in August of 2018 as a second grade teacher. The following school year, I was fortunate enough to move with the students to the third grade. This gave me the opportunity to teach and grow with several of my same students. As a class, we have faced many obstacles and challenges, but we've always persevered and made it through as a closer, more united, classroom family.
I recently applied to the University of Utah to pursue my master's degree in Mild/Moderate Special Education with the ultimate goal of working in a behavioral unit.
When I'm not at school, I love to be outside. Growing up as a child, my family spent a lot of time exploring all of which Utah has to offer. My passion for the outdoors remains the same today. I love hiking, camping, being at the lake, and exploring our State Parks and National Parks. Recently, my sister introduced me to the joys of backpacking--there's really nothing like being in the outdoors, miles and miles away from civilization. Along with the outdoors; I love travelling, spending time with my family and friends, going to concerts, cultural festivals/fairs, taking my dog on walks, sporting events, gardening, and watching movies.
