Good Morning!
I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! This is going to be a long post, but please read all of it! I know that every Monday during Morning Meeting, we briefly talk about what you did over the weekend. I'll start. I sat around my house, watched a lot of movies and shows, played games on my phone, painted, and hung out with my dog, Chase. It was too cold and rainy for me to want to take him on a walk or do anything overly exciting. This staying at home thing is really hard for me, as I'm sure it's hard for each and every one of you. Hang in there, we've got to do this to stay safe and healthy during these times. Feel free to click the comment button and let me know what YOU did over the weekend! I'd love to hear from you. As I was making breakfast this morning, I was thinking of some of the benefits that come with working from home. I hope this list brings a laugh or at least a smile to your face! 1. I can work in my pajamas! 2. I can make more coffee whenever I need to. 3. No shoes! 4. I can take a quick step outside for a big breath of fresh air. 5. I'm home for my Amazon deliveries! 6. I can take a walk if I need a break (it counts for mindfulness!) 7. There aren't many distractions. Don't worry, I still miss all of you--like CRAZY! 8. Music. I can listen to music ALL day! Then I think of all of you singing and it makes me smile! 9. I can use the restroom whenever I need to! It does NOT cost you Dojo points right now! Ha Ha 10. Most importantly, I can pet Chase whenever I want! At the same time of thinking about some of the good things I like about working from home, there are just as many, if not more, things I worry about and often think about. 1. I miss getting to leave my house and go into school. 2. I miss our classroom. 3. I worry about all of you. 4. I hope you're taking care of yourself and your family members. 5. I hope you're continuing RAK and helping your family out when they need it. 6. I miss all of the smiles, laughs, and talking. 7. I miss seeing the moment that you understand something new and how excited you get. 8. I hope that you're trying to get your work done. 9. I hope you're staying active while being happy and healthy. 10. I MISS SEEING ALL OF YOU!!! I know that some of you like checking this website for updates on how things are going with me. I figured I'd put a section under "Categories" on the right (over there ---->) called "Activities". These are going to be ideas of stuff you can do at home during the dismissal. You DO NOT NEED to do any of them, but they're just some fun things you can do IF you want to. If you do decide to do any of them, make sure you have your parent's permission BEFORE you start an activity. Always keep your safety in mind and take an adult with you if you're going out and about. I need to work on a schedule to setup times to video conference you. I look forward to seeing you! Like I mentioned previously, leave me a comment to let me know how your weekend was, just to say "hi" or anything else you might have to say as long as it's school appropriate. Please make sure to include your name!

Good morning!
I recorded a video this morning to post on here for everyone to watch, but I can't upload it without paying for a membership. As much as I love and miss all of you, I don't want to pay for a membership just to add videos. I COULD post the video onto YouTube and then put the YouTube link on here, but that seems like a lot of work! To summarize what I said in my video, I said that I miss all of you! I miss your stories, the smiles, the laughter, and the chaos and noise of OUR classroom. Who would have thought that I'd say I miss the noise of everyone talking?! Pretty crazy, right? I miss our morning meetings, our games, and the joy that I see in your faces when you're doing the Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) challenge. We are in the process of figuring out the easiest way to do a video call with each and every one of you starting next week. That way I can see your face and know you're happy and doing well during this dismissal period. Please do your best to stay happy, healthy, and safe during this time. Remember to practice mindful minutes. With parent permission, you can go on YouTube and search "mindful minute kids" so you can have guidance during your mindfulness. You can also look for a Go Noodle or meditation on there as well--just an idea! I ate lunch and took Chase on a walk for my "recess" time.
I received a picture from one of my students this morning that really made my morning, so I wanted to share it. I can't promise that I'll post everyone's drawings, but I will promise to save them and add them to our slideshow at the end of the school year.
Good morning! I will try to update this a few times a week. I've had several students reach out to me on ClassDojo to ask how I'm doing, how Chase is doing, and what I've been up to. I will try to upload pictures and videos of what I'm doing during the school dismissal. I am working on a way to setup video conference calling with you, my students, during this time. I will let you know when I get it up and running. I would love to see and talk with ALL of you. I miss everyone so much and hope you're doing well! As for now, this is my makeshift desk, which is surprisingly a lot cleaner than my desk at school! Ha Ha!
